last run with haley....and now DALLAS-FORT WORTH

haley woke me up today, bless her heart.  she texted me seeing if i wanted to run with her.  my first thoughts were, "oh gosh no i don't want to.  she will run me into the ground; she is so fast. i just need rest, im so tired."  then i was like, yeah, i need to run because i will be kicking myself later when it is hotter than hades outside.  so naturally, i get ready in 2 minutes (haha) and run out the door to meet haley.  we meet up around Davis-Wade and me, coach, and haley run Campus-5 backwards (so much easier than forwards).  it was a great run.  we were running at 7-flat pace and then dropped to about 6:50 and the last mile and a half dropped to nearly 6:40 pace.  it was refreshing as we were talking the whole time.

my shin didn't hurt at all.  i have been religiously ice cupping in order to get 100% healthy for cross and having Meg massage my calves every other day.

i am driving to Arlington tomorrow to see John.  we are all going to head up to the lakehouse on sunday when the rest of the team arrives.  i am so excited to see dallas-fort worth.  I haven't been there since 2005.  i just got word that anna won't be coming to the lake now :/ this makes me sad.

i saw this picture on a door to a thrift store today.  i was dropping off 5 bags of clothes off and noticed this happy street art at the donation stop.  it made me really happy.

you know, reader, you are better than you think you are.  you are a better person than you think you are, you are a better __________  (enter whatever you want) than you think you are, you are a better friend than you think you are, you are a better student than you think you are.  you are BETTER than YOU think you are. we have such a warped mind when it comes to self-esteem, sometimes.  i just wanted to take a minute to encourage you all that you are wonderful and special and perfect in someone's eyes.  even if you don't see it, you are important to someone and your unique qualities are what makes you so attractive.  so don't change. be you.  you are better than you think you are.

  2. I just found your blog after finding Haley's. I run for SEMO and have seen you both race and you both are incredible. I'm so glad I came across you, who knew there were more collegiate running blogs! :D Especially since we go to the same meets, it's such a small world. I can't wait to keep reading. YAY summer training haha!
