Injuries


  • January 2008-March 2008
    • plica in my right knee
    • aqua-jogged for 2.5 months and then had the most successful, high school track season running a 4:52 1600-m in the beginning of June
  • January 2009-June 2009
    • stress fracture in my second metatarsal
    • continued to run on it until March 
    • was able to do no cross-training until May and then came back to run a 17:52 5k in September
  • October 2009-November 2009
    • over pronating that lead to overuse of the peroneal tendon
    • extensive leg exercises and icing
    • no cross-training
  • December 2009-May 2010
    • IT-band problems on right leg
    • IT-band surgery early Feb 2010
    • able to cross-train 4 weeks after and run full-on in May

  • December 2010-March 2011
    • IT-band problem on left leg beginning of December, immediately knew what was happening
    • IT-band surgery end of January 2011
    • able to cross-train 3 weeks after surgery and running in mid-March

  • November 2011-December 2011
    • severe inflammation on my right foot peroneal tendon. 
    • tried a dose pack and then opted for the steroid injection
    • 2.5 weeks in a boot and finally was able to get a solid week of real running in
    • then....
  • December 2011-January 2012
    • severe inflammation on my left peroneal tendon.
    • steroid injection as soon as possible
    • AM I SYMMETRICAL OR WHAT!?
  • March 2012-Mary 2012
    • bone bruise (half of my calcaneus bone)
    • rest, rest, rest: stay off of it as much as possible
    • anti-inflammatories when needed and LOTS of ice
