eagle creek

i had an easy 50-60 minute run today. i knew i wanted to run on soft surfaces because i have been pounding the pavement hard these last few days, so i headed over to eagle creek park. if you don't know about eagle creek, i'm sorry, you really should.

there really is no greater peaceful feeling than rocks beneath you, the wind blowing through the trees, the crunch of a stick beneath your foot, the tweet of a bird, the voice of God inside your head. i love running on trails when no one else is around. (oh, and especially because when you have to go, you have to go.....i really miss being in colorado and having lamb's ear ever present. lol)

as i was running i came in a close encounter with a baby deer, still with it's white spots. i ran along the reservoir as the sun was making it's way behind the clouds and down behind the earth. it was beautiful, i stopped for a quick second to take in God's beauty then i carried on my merry little way. i ended up running almost 9-miles in 63 minutes, not quite 7 min pace, but i was movin' through those trees. my legs were happy, my lungs were happy, my blood was happy.

i am taking my iron, i feel like a million bucks.

12-miler tomorrow!
here i come!
